In Colorado, guardianships and conservatorships are established through a court-based process to protect temporarily or permanently incapacitated adults when alternate plans have not been made. Once appointed these fiduciaries are empowered to make medical or financial decisions in the best interests of the person under their care. In this class, Chris Scolari will address the nature of these positions and the responsibilities that guardians and conservators must embrace once appointed. Chris will also discuss alternative methods to choose proactively who would make medical and financial decisions for you in the event you are unable to do so.
