Erica’s Favorite Charities

Many people who do their estate planning through Ambler & Keenan address charities in their estate planning documents. We welcome suggestions of your favorite charities, and we hope these inspirational stories will make an impact in your life as well. This week we have a few of Erica Johnson’s favorite organizations to introduce. Erica is an estate planning attorney at Ambler & Keenan. Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance Erica lost her mom to ovarian cancer in 2002, and a few years ago Erica began running the annual Jodi’s Race for Awareness 5K in her mom’s honor. The Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance was founded in June 2005 as a means to promote awareness of ovarian cancer through education and advocacy, as well as create support for survivors of ovarian cancer. They also raise funds to advance research for better treatment of ovarian cancer. To contact the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance, or to make a donation, visit their website at www.colo-ovariancancer.org The Denver Foundation Denver is lucky to have this foundation call Colorado home. Their mission is to bring out inspiration in people and call resources to action for a stronger community. They help people to personalize their charitable giving and establish donor-advised funds. The expertise and education the Foundation provides in family philanthropic planning, which is provided free of charge, is invaluable. If you have questions for The Denver Foundation, or to donate, visit their website at www.denverfoundation.org The DeBoskey Group Although not categorized as a non-profit group, The Deboskey Group helps others with their philanthropy. You can sign up to read Bruce DeBoskey’s monthly Sunday Denver Post articles about giving. You can also learn more about how to engage your children and grandchildren in your philanthropy. For more information on The DeBoskey Group visit their website at www.deboskeygroup.com We look forward to bringing information on more wonderful charities to you soon. If you have a recommendations, please email them to Lindsey@ambler-keenan.com
